Prescription Charges Policy
1. Private Prescription Charges
A fee is applied for every prescription written, regardless of the duration of the
prescription. This fee reflects:

The administrative time required to process each request

The GP’s clinical time and professional training involved in assessing and authorising medication
This applies to all private prescriptions.
2. Duration of Prescriptions

For most medications, prescription duration may vary based on clinical need and GP assessment.

Controlled Drugs (e.g. certain pain medications or medications subject to misuse) can only be prescribed for a maximum of one month at a time, in accordance with national pharmacy and regulatory requirements. This ensures safe monitoring and responsible prescribing practices.
Repeat Prescription Ordering Policy
Lakelands Medical Practice accept prescription requests by written request only.
Our staff are not permitted to accept verbal requests for medication at any
time. This policy is in place to:

Ensure maximum patient safety.

Ensure that patients are aware of the medications they are requesting.

Reduce the risk of prescribing of incorrect or unnecessary medications.

Ensure accurate records of patient medication requests are retained; and Minimise human error.
Please Note:

Repeat prescriptions should be ordered no earlier than one week before they are due.

Controlled drugs can only be prescribed for a maximum of one month at a time.
You can request your repeat medication in the following ways:
1. Online on our website Lakelandsmedical.com
2. On the Pippo App 24/7
I. Download the Pippo App from your app store
II. Select this Lakelands Medical Practice from the search menu
III. Register your details and
IV. Start ordering your repeat prescriptions with Pippo.
3. By posting or dropping in your repeat medication order form.
We aim to have all prescription requests reviewed and processed within 3 working days (72 hours).
Repeat Prescription Order Form
All requests for repeat prescriptions must be submitted in writing at least 72 hours in advance.
If you have any difficulty completing this form, please ask your pharmacist for assistance.
Your prescription will be sent electronically to your chosen pharmacy.
