Monica Nee
Practice Nurse
Nurse Monica Nee graduated from Edinburgh Napier University in 2004. Following graduation, she worked in the Acute Receiving Unit and Cancer Centre in Western General Hospital, Edinburgh for over six years.
Monica travelled and worked in Australia before returning to her native Galway, where she went to work in Clifden District Hospital.
Monica was working as a practice nurse for over thirteen years before joining Lakelands Medical Practice in May 2022. She enjoys the varied aspects of practice nursing, especially Chronic Disease Management, Hereditary Hemochromatosis, Health Promotion, Childhood Immunisations and Care of the Elderly.
Monica trained in management of PICC lines and Hickman lines. She gained a Certificate in Wound Management and is a registered cervical smear taker. She continues to evolve her skills, knowledge, experience and understanding through ongoing professional development.
Monica completed a Mizen to Malin cycle with the Western Lakes Cycling Club. She enjoys cooking and spending time with her family.
