Michelle Heskin
Practice Nurse
Nurse Michelle Heskin graduated from University College Hospital Galway in 1994. After graduation, she spent three years in Dublin working in the Cardiothoracic Unit in The Mater Hospital and the Neuro-ICU in Beaumont Hospital. She then moved to Cork to work as a Clinical Nurse Manager in The Bon Secours Hospital. Michelle came back to Mayo and took some time out from work to raise her family. She returned to work in the Respiratory Unit in the Galway Clinic before joining the Emergency Department in Mayo University Hospital where she gained valuable experience in her ten years there. Michelle joined the Lakelands Medical Team in 2023.
Michelle has extensive experience in all aspects of nursing care and has continued her professional development. She has attained certification in Manchester Triage, Life Support, Venepuncture, Critical Care, Wound Management, Immunisation, Anaphylaxis, ECGs, Diabetic Management, Anticoagulant Management, Family Planning, Cervical Smear Taking, Ear Care, and Audiometry.

Her areas of special interest include Patient Triage, Chronic Disease Management, Travel Medicine, Preceptorship Training for Teaching and Learning in Clinical Practice.

When she is not at work, Michelle can be found in her garden or supporting her local GAA Club and County teams.
